FAQs

How do I RSVP?

Please RSVP through our Paperless Post invitation. Kindly check your email inbox for details and answer all questions so that we can plan a seamless experience for you.

What is the guest list etiquette / can I bring Plus Ones or kids?

Due to limited seating, we kindly ask that only those listed on your invitation attend. While we wish we could include everyone, we regret that we’re unable to accommodate additional guests at this time, including plus ones or children. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly. Thank you for your understanding as we celebrate with our closest friends and family.

Are there any rules on use of phones or cameras during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras tucked away and silenced during the ceremony so everyone can fully enjoy the moment with us. Don’t worry—we’ve hired amazing photographers to capture all the special memories! Before & After the ceremony, feel free to take and share as many photos during the celebration. Thank you for helping us keep the ceremony moment intimate and special.

Is this event happening indoors or outdoors?

Ceremony: The wedding ceremony will take place outdoors on the East Lawn, a beautiful grassy area.
Please note that stilettos may not be ideal for navigating the lawn.
Cocktail Hour: Following the ceremony, cocktail hour will be held outdoors on the Seaside Terrace.
Dinner and Dancing: The evening will continue indoors in the Seaside Ballroom.
Rain contingency plan: In case of rain, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be relocated to the Seaside Ballroom Drawing Room indoors.
The weather is expected to be summery, with the sun setting later in the evening around 8:30 PM—perfect for enjoying the coastal views!

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

We are so excited about the menu!
Everything is farm-to-table, and the event will have an open bar.
During cocktail hour, we will be serving canapés, followed by a three-course seated dinner featuring a selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes—plus the wedding cake, yay!

If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please be sure to include this information when you RSVP.

Apart from the wedding, will there be other events?

We're hosting a completely optional, casual welcome gathering on Saturday evening (the night before the wedding) at Surf Cantina in Westerly, RI, for those staying in the area.
Come by for margaritas and some New American–Mexican bites to share. The wedding day passes so quickly, and we’d love to spend more quality time together before the big day :) You can expect a laid-back affair where you can rock up in jeans! :)

Alas, there will be no afterparty, as the hotel ballroom closes early on Sunday evening due to neighborhood quiet hours. We are happy to offer shuttles at both 10 PM and 11 PM nonetheless: 10 PM for those who wish to depart on time, as we understand Monday is a work day for many; and a final shuttle at 11 PM for those who wish to linger a little longer after the reception for final farewells and a nightcap.

There are no scheduled events on Monday (the day after the wedding), as we’ll be spending the day sending off our families visiting from abroad.

To help you make the most of your trip, we’ve included a list of Things to Do in the area that we think you’ll enjoy :)

What is the dress code?

Black-Tie Preferred: Floor-length gowns, formal cocktail dresses, and tuxedos with black bow ties are encouraged. While black tie is ideal, guests may also choose a formal suit with a bow tie or necktie, or an elegant dress as a suitable alternative. Creative black-tie attire is welcome.

Please note that stilettos may not be ideal for navigating the lawn.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive Ocean House between 3:30 PM - 3:50 PM.
Give yourself some extra time ahead for parking, getting off the shuttle, time to use the bathroom etc.
Prelude will begin at 3:40 PM. Guests should be seated at the East Lawn by 3:50 PM. The ceremony will start promptly at 4 PM.

What time should I leave?

The reception will officially end at 10 PM. We know many of you have work, school, and/or other Monday morning obligations the next day, so the main guest shuttles will depart at 10 PM.

For those who would like to stay a little longer to share final goodbyes and a nightcap, we’ve arranged for a last shuttle to leave at 11 PM.

Please note that since it’s a Sunday, the hotel will start winding down at 11 PM to respect neighborhood quiet hours.

If you’re taking a shuttle, please indicate on your RSVP card whether you’ll be leaving on the 10 PM or 11 PM shuttle.

Is there parking at Ocean House?

We are pleased to offer valet parking for our guests at Ocean House.
To reserve your valet parking spot, please indicate this when responding to our RSVP questions.

As street parking will be extremely limited during Watch Hill’s peak summer season, we encourage you to plan ahead.

If you plan to enjoy alcoholic beverages during the celebration, we kindly ask that you do not drive after the event. Please arrange transportation in advance, whether by shuttle or a pre-booked taxi. Your safety is our priority.

When will we know the exact shuttle schedule?

We will update our website accordingly, and send shuttle time reminders via our WhatsApp group. You may also call/text Alex Kilcoyne (our Guest Travel Coordinator) if you get confused closer to the wedding weekend.

How will you communicate any updated information and/or changes before the wedding?

We will be sending updates via Paperless Post that the RSVP is connected to. If you RSVP, you are guaranteed to receive email updates.
